Hotel search with Claude

Live Booking.com rates with the filters the real site has (24 of them). Every property returns with a price, review score, room type, and a working booking link, so the agent can present a shortlist the user can act on immediately.

Free tier on RapidAPI. No card to try.

Step 1 · Connect

Add the MCP server as a connector

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL. If your client supports custom headers, prefer sending the key as x-rapidapi-key instead of in the URL.

connect
https://flights.flightpowers.com/mcp?rapidapi_key=YOUR_RAPIDAPI_KEY

Bring your own RapidAPI key: every request is billed to your own subscription, never ours.

Step 2 · Ask it

The prompt

Verbatim: paste it, or anything shaped like it. The agent maps it to the call below.

Find me a hotel in Lisbon, October 9 to 12, 2 adults, review score 8+, free cancellation.

Step 3 · Under the hood

What the agent calls

No glue code: the agent reads the tool schema, picks the tool, and fills these parameters from your prompt.

tool call
// search_hotels
{
  "destination": "Lisbon",
  "checkin_date": "2026-10-09",
  "checkout_date": "2026-10-12",
  "adults": 2,
  "filters": [
    "review_score_8",
    "free_cancellation"
  ]
}

Step 4 · Read the response

Fields your logic reads

The response is flat JSON. These are the fields this recipe branches on, with what each one means.

namestring

The property name as listed on Booking.com.

price_stringstring

The total rate for the stay as Booking.com displays it: “US$2,434”.

review_scorenumber

Booking.com guest score out of 10.

review_countnumber

How many reviews the score rests on: a 9.1 from 12 reviews is not a 9.1 from 1,200.

room_typestring

Which room the rate belongs to: compare like with like across markets.

linkstring (URL)

A working Booking.com link to the property.

Questions, answered plainly

Is my key billed to me?
Yes. The MCP server is bring-your-own-key: Claude sends your RapidAPI key with each call and usage meters against your own subscription on RapidAPI. There is no FlightPowers account and no second bill.
Does this need a server of mine?
No. The MCP servers are hosted at flights.flightpowers.com and hotels.flightpowers.com: you add a URL to Claude, not a deployment.
What does it cost?
The Booking.com Live API's free tier is 10 requests/month with a hard cap: enough to verify your key works, not to evaluate. The PRO plan is $10/month for 2,000 requests, and every plan includes every endpoint.
